About Me

I like building things, going fast, and helping brilliant people build great companies. I also like making markets especially around machine intelligence. I am passionate about racing cars and about inspiring our youth to pursue STEM careers.

Currently a Venture capitalist focused on Cognitive Computing and Machine Intelligence market. Chairman, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, San Antonio Branch and the Saxena Family Foundation.

Former CEO and founder of two successful venture funded software start ups which were acquired by IBM (2006) and by CommerceOne (2001).


Founding General Partner, The Entrepreneurs' Fund, a $100m seed fund focused exclusively on the cognitive computing and machine intelligence market with eight active investments.

Led IBM Watson Software Division as its first General Manager (2011-14) and helped with the formation of Watson Business Group in January 2014 with a $1B investment from IBM.

Prior to IBM, successfully founded, scaled, and sold two venture-backed software companies within a five year span. Holder of nine software patents in machine intelligence.

Auto racing enthusiast with passion for track, endurance and rally racing. Have raced Formula 1 cars, Radicals, Porsche GT3 RS, and Formula Renault.

Completed 24-day Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand-Burma race, 19-day Trans-America race, and a 10-day Madrid to Marrakesh race.

Getting ready to race across Africa in a 1932 Alvis Speed 20 later in 2017.
