Procurement Category Manager
October 2008 - December 2012 ( 4 years, 2 months )
I am responsible for securing optimal supply relationships and maximising profits for Metricon by developing commercially relevant procurement solutions across a range of products and services categories. These are Cabinetry and Joinery, Floor and Window Furnishings, Sanitaryware and Hardware, Insulation, Height Safety, Appliances and other construction specific materials and services.
My role was instrumental in initiating and driving change throughout the organisation. My focus was to engage business unit stakeholders in order to define the true business need from the sales process through to the construction, and develop relationships with suppliers, in order to deliver to Metricon's business needs.
Some of the achievements are running National RFP on carpets, introducing new business models in 2 categories (tiling and cabinetry) and proactively responding to market dynamics as seen in the Insulation industry. I always focus on seeking new business opportunities that deliver terms most favourable to Metricon. This includes supplier development in the areas where the market is least competitive; Joint Ventures with suppliers on new sales and construction methods, and overseas sourcing and importing of appliances and sanitaryware.
August 2007 - October 2008 ( 1 year, 2 months )
My role as the Account Manager at Peoplebank (IT recruitment provider) was an end-to-end recruitment role focusing on developing new business and leveraging existing accounts, seeking new business opportunities. I took a partner approach with clients to understand their hiring needs and employed various candidate sourcing strategies to find the best qualified candidates for my clients.
August 2006 - August 2007 ( 1 year )
I managed the agency contractor program at HP, a Master Vendor contract, an account which was worth approx $100m across Australia and New Zealand.
I have attended and driven Operations Review meetings and ensured vendor KPI’s were met, and were in line with the contract terms by liaising with Procurement and Legal departments.
My role was also to be the final escalation point for any agency contractor staging matters.
I have also provided advice to hiring managers on staffing and company wide Policies and ensured the managers were aware of internal Agency Contractor sourcing methods.
I assumed country employer branding lead role, and liaised with suppliers on job postings, general branding collateral and sourcing/purchasing of various branding material for recruitment campaigns – (sales recruitment, graduate recruitment & diversity).
I implemented “career mobility” initiative, together with HP recruitment Centre, and internal stakeholders and developed communication strategy that supported the campaign.
