Managing your supply base smartly means much more than just saving money and an empowered Sourcing function can add significant value financially, operationally and through acting as an internal solutions broker. Passionate about change, especially thinking around performance versus organizational health (both is needed) and how to make large organizations agile enough to survive and thrive in an avalanche of external change. Procurement certainly needs to become more digital to keep a seat at a table where same-time information is the real currency. The function still relies too much on mechanical information gathering and provides an internal shopper experience far removed from Amazon.
