The Faculty Social Procurement Masterclass | Member-Only Event
Breaking through the “buzz” to deliver sustainable impact and value at scale
Social procurement can no longer be described as a new idea in procurement. The Faculty and Social Traders first published “Corporate Social Procurement in Australia” back in 2013… more than eight years ago! And yet for all the conference sessions and procurement blogs about the benefits of buying goods and services from diverse suppliers such as Indigenous businesses, social enterprises and local suppliers, social procurement is still a side-show for most sourcing and category strategies.
In this 90-minute, interactive session, procurement provocateur Matt Perfect, Principal, Impact Spender will break down the buzz of social procurement and challenge participants to think bigger with their social procurement strategies. By demonstrating the commercial value of social impact, we can position social procurement as a strategic driver rather than “the right thing to do”. In turn, we can commit the time and resources needed to do it sustainably at scale.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the difference between the supplier diversity we want and the inclusive procurement we need to get there
- Articulate the commercial value of social impact and how we can use it to get buy in for social procurement initiatives
- Implement a supplier development approach to identifying and growing the social impact of our supply base through social procurement
