Who will take the lead in governing the application of artificial intelligence? Procurement.

The UK government, in partnership with the World Economic Forum, has released new public sector purchasing guidelines to help ethically source AI solutions for government bodies.

Good to see procurement with a lead role in how the UK government commissions the use of AI. I like the idea of going to the market with an open problem rather than a solution. That's "high end" public procurement practice and can really help to bring forward innovative solutions from suppliers

It should indeed help the big "pink elephant" in the public procurement sector, which is corruption. It is of a big concern, especially in emerging countries. I am particularly interested in knowing more about mechanisms of transparency. Could someone indicate some literature on public procurement, please?
