It makes me think of 'Efficiency'. eSourcing allows procurement professionals to operate more effectively as they don't need to to spend so much time managing and distributing information.

For me, eSourcing makes my smile because it means I engage with my known network, discover new connections and get to do research. Does that make me weird? :-)

every request initiated and managed via a dashboard from a cloud. No paper whatsoever, sent or received. And presently, bare minimum need for email, which is solely used to send the request to invitees for responding (within the cloud).

Great question Anya McKenna ! Love the insights here. @Carole Houston, I've noticed it seem under-utilized as well.

Why do you think that is? What keeps people from eSourcing? Habit? Intimidated by new technology?

E Sourcing, means Electronic Sourcing, utilizing innovative tools and technology to improve efficiency of the sourcing process, faster and cheaper.. this does not appear to be utilized enough.

Its interesting that no-one so far has mentioned how eSourcing drives greater savings for the business, not just in lower business costs but increase supplier discounts e.g auctions. I guess "Efficiency" is considered the more precious commodity ?!

    Good answer Nic! :D

I think the first thing I think of is 'centralised'. Which ties in with efficiency I suppose. The ease of having everything in one place rather than jumping between email inboxes/cumbersome spreadsheets etc.
