What is the importance of achieving my MCIPS qualification for my procurement career??

I am relatively new to the field of Procurement and have been studying towards my MCIPs qualification, whilst gaining experience in various procurement roles. However, I am rather disheartened with this 'education and qualification body' and their complete lack of support that they give, or rather do not give, their members throughout the long road to achieving this. I have been seriously considering switching my focus to achieving an MSC in Procurement through an accredited University instead. This opinion is based on my personal experience in dealing with CIPSA over the last 2 years across several matters and queries that have arisen. I would be most grateful if someone could advise on which qualification is the more widely recognised, or if merely experience triumphs over any of the above?! Many thanks in advance!
