Procurement the best shielded department in an organisation

Good day Procurement Professionals I'm doing my MSc in Operation and Supply Chain Management focusing on Procurement, and is at the stage where I need to do research. Yes, RESEARCH, that word that make procurement professionals get out there shields to duck behind to be out of sight, right? Well that's the impression I'm getting. Are there any procurement professionals out there that can aid in research, by answering a few research questions? My research focus on the procurement professionals perception of what the organisational business strategy is. How procurement integrates with the supply base, marketing-and-sales, and finance areas. Who procurement report to in the organisation and the general supply chain governance structure implemented.
