Navigating COVID-19
Hi all
I have been hit up like I am guessing most of you have to reduce operational costs across the business. My senior management team want cost reductions from our major suppliers. I have pushed back explaining that everyone is feeling the pain and crippling our supply chain and driving our suppliers out of business might not be the best approach. Instead lets work on relationships, long term contracts and sharing the pain.
Some ideas my team are working on are
* Reducing our supplier network
* Better contracting terms for the suppliers we remain with
* Better understanding supplier network, are there opportunities to cut out middle man and go more direct
* Better understanding of our transport network to find things like load share opportunities.
I get it we are all fighting for our companies life's and some hard horrible decisions will need to be made if we are to survive but can others please share what they are doing to navigate COVID-19??
