How can I identify the skill set that I used in sourcing for capital projects/equipment that are transferable/relevant to category management for enterprise?

I have directed full 7 step-sourcing processes for major engineering and construction tenders (multi-million dollars of Capital Investment Programs) with participation from several internal groups using RASCI module. How would this experience be relevant to managing category managers.
